SwitchEasy Capsule Rebel M Review

Hey guys! For my first review, I’m gonna be looking at the SwitchEasy CapsuleRebel M iPhone case. As you may know, this is the newer version of SwitchEasy’s CapsuleRebel, which was probably their best selling case for the iPhone 3G/3GS. I’m going to try to keep these reviews as short as possible.

When I first saw this case, I thought it looked really cool. The bone/spinal chord-like look on the back really made it stand out to me. The edges of the case also cover up the chrome bezel which gives it a clean look from the front as well. Overall, I think it’s one of the better looking cases out there.

The protection on this case is pretty good. It’s bulky, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing if it adds protection. A medium-length drop onto concrete with this case on probably wouldn’t result into any damage to your phone. The Rebel M is a hard/soft case hybrid (the backbone is hard, but the case itself is soft) and according to SwitchEasy, is supposed to provide some shock-protection.

The first thing you’ll notice about this case when you hold it is that it doesn’t feel cheap. The silicone has a nice finish which will allow it to easily slip in and out of your pocket. The cut-outs are perfectly centered where they should be and the covered buttons (the sleep/wake button and the volume buttons) are very easy to press.

SwitchEasy includes a whole bunch of stuff with this case (I forgot to take pictures of some them). But they include.. 2 screen protectors, 2 headphone port covers, 2 dock port covers, 2 dock adapters (black and white), 1 microfibre cloth, and a video stand with 2 viewing angles. SwitchEasy sells it all for $28, but if you look on eBay you can find them for a lot cheaper =)

Overall, I really like this case. The only thing that bugs me is that the “exo-skeleton” raises the phone up a bit when laid flat on its back, which causes a lot of rocking back and forth when you’re using it on a surface like a desk or table.

I was actually considering buying a case from this company, and (as long as you weren’t lying through your teeth on this review) I’ll probably wind up buying this one. This was that little push i needed to go out and get it, thanks :)

Haha nope. I don’t have much reason to lie either. Everything in my review was 100% honest.
